Jewels of the Triangle: belly dance gala and fundraiser

Jewels of the Triangle: Belly Dance Gala and Fundraiser is an annual belly dance show that highlights the best of the Triangle's Middle Eastern Dancers. The show benefits the Triangle Belly Dance Scholarship, a brand-new scholarship for belly dancers who can not afford to pay for classes. All proceeds from the event go to the scholarship.

Presented by the Happy Hips Belly Dance Troupe and Khâhari Belly Dance Collaborative, this professional event is sure to entertain dancers and non-dancers alike. The show features local vendors, door prizes and an array of different belly dancers--from Oriental to Tribal to Children's belly dance.

Our first Jewels event raised $900 for the Triangle Belly Dance Scholarship. The event was held on January 3, 2009 at Peace College in Raleigh. Khâhari and Happy Hips had so much fun organizing and dancing at the event this year, that they can't wait until the next one. Stay tuned for more information about scholarship fund and our next fundraising event.

Thank you to all of our fabulous dancers and volunteers who made it success!
